Gastric Bypass Surgery
Gastric Bypass Surgery is a procedure used to treat morbid obesity. Gastric Bypass Surgery divides the stomach into two pouches. The upper pouch essentially serves as a small stomach, which reduces the size of the stomach by up to 90%. In addition to this, the surgeon alters the intensines connected to the stomach reducing the psychological response the patient has to food. This leads to a dramatic decrease in body fat and many of the medical problems associated with obesity.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal uses high intensity light to damage the hair follicle while not damaging the surrounding skin. This procedure can be used to remove unwanted hair in many areas including hair on the chest, back, face, bikini line, and many other areas. Generally Permanent hair removal takes 5-8 sessions each spread 3-8 weeks apart.
Liposuction is used to remove excess fat from the thighs, stomach, buttocks, arms, and legs. Liposuction is generally performed by cutting a small incision in the body and using a hollow tube and aspirator to essentially suck the fat out of the body. Most procedures involve the removal of 5 to 10 pounds of fat and are outpatient procedures.
There are many different treatments used for minimizing the appearance of scars. These include topical treatments, needling, steroid injections, dermabrasion treatments, laser resurfacing, and invasive surgeries. All these treatments are effective in their own ways and the specific treatment used should only be determined by a professional surgeon who is able to view the scar and diagnose the correct treatment.
Tummy Tucks remove excess fat and skin while tightening the abdominal muscles, which leads to a slimming effect on the stomach. A tummy tuck is done while the patient is under general anesthesia and generally takes 1 to 5 hours to be completed. Following the surgery the patient is able to leave the hospital the same day, however complete recovery may take up to several weeks.
